In these areas, setting off personal fireworks remains completely illegal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Repealed Bans (Proceed with Caution):<\/strong> Some areas have seen just enough rain to lift local restrictions. For instance, <strong>Polk County<\/strong> officially repealed its fire department burn ban on June 17 after the Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) dropped to safer levels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even in areas where it is legally permitted, fire chiefs are pleading with residents to think twice before lighting backyard displays.
