The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a broad area of disturbed weather associated with a tropical wave located several hundred miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. Formation chances remain low through the next 48 hours, with only a modest chance of gradual development over the next week. There is currently no indication of impacts to the United States. Weather experts say this is a good time for residents along the Gulf Coast, Florida, and the Southeast to review hurricane preparedness plans.
