Tropical Storm Cristobal formed in the far northern Atlantic, becoming the third named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season.<\/sup> Simultaneously, forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) are tracking two other tropical disturbances in the deep Atlantic.<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Tropical Storm Cristobal<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Location:<\/strong> Located in the North\/Subtropical Atlantic (west-southwest of the Azores).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Intensity:<\/strong> Maximum sustained winds of around 45 mph<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Impact:<\/strong> No land threats.<\/strong> Cristobal is moving over cool waters and encountering hostile northerly wind shear and dry air. It is expected to weaken rapidly and dissipate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    2. Area of Interest 1: Invest 92L (Leading Wave)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    • Location:<\/strong> Central Tropical Atlantic, roughly 950\u20131,000 miles east-southwest of the Leeward Islands\/Cabo Verde.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Outlook:<\/strong> The NHC previously gave it a high chance (up to 80%) of development into a tropical depression. However, unfavorable upper-level winds and dry air are expected to limit its organization as it moves westward toward the eastern Caribbean.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      3. Area of Interest 2: African Eastern Wave (Trailing Wave)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      • Location:<\/strong> Just off the western coast of Africa.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
