The\u00a0Lakeland Aero Club<\/a>\u00a0is the largest youth flying club in the world and is part of the\u00a0Aerospace Center for Excellence.<\/a>\u00a0Located on the\u00a0Sun \u2018n Fun Expo Campus<\/a>\u00a0at the\u00a0Lakeland Linder International Airport<\/a>, the club has 85 active members, 4 flying aircraft and 5 project aircraft. Our mission is to inspire young people to get involved in aviation by \u201cMaking tomorrow\u2019s greatest aviators today\u201d. The club is student run and operated, meaning the students are the ones who build, maintain, restore, and fly the aircraft.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes the aircraft you will see during the fly-by.
WHAT: The\u00a0<\/strong>Lakeland Aero Club<\/a>\u00a0will do a fly-by in a formation<\/strong>\u00a0with a Piper L-18C, Piper PA-11, and an American Champion 7EC Champ to recognize and thank our frontline workers at\u00a0Lakeland Fire Department<\/a>;\u00a0Lakeland Police Department<\/a>;\u00a0Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center<\/a>;\u00a0Polk County Sheriff’s Operations Center, Northwest & Southwest Command Centers;<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Watson Clinic<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents are welcome to watch the flyover from any public parking lot or park, in keeping with social distancing recommendations. Please do not plan to watch the flyover in any of the aforementioned agencies’ parking lots, as those spots are reserved for patient care and emergency situations.
