Of the injured, 3 are in critical condition and 2 were hospitalized. Firefighters encountered a complex engine compartment fire and used foam from specialized airport firefighting units to extinguish the flames. Specialized MDFR hazardous materials units safely shut down the aircraft\u2019s engine and worked to mitigate a fuel leak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MDFR transported five patients to local area hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are now operating in a supportive role, with units remaining on scene to assist partner agencies and mitigate an ongoing fuel leak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are no public safety concerns for our Miami-Dade community.
