In January, once the new Congress is sworn in, the body will vote on Jeffries\u2019 candidacy and any other Democratic members who run for the position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cAgainst all odds, House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/democrats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democrats<\/a> were consistently successful in the minority.
