SUN \u2018n FUN, one of Lakeland\u2019s most iconic events, is making it easier for locals to attend its weekend festivities while supporting Downtown Lakeland on April 2nd, 2021. Continuing the fun theme of \u201cFlight Night\u201d, SUN \u2018n FUN is the hosting sponsor for the city\u2019s First Friday event, held monthly in the city\u2019s central area surrounding Munn Park. The sponsored promotion will give attendees to the downtown event ticket discounts and a chance to spin a prize wheel for upgrades and giveaways, plus SUN ‘n FUN will recognize front-line health care workers and first responders who have had such a challenging year due to COVID-19. \u201cLakeland is our home, and SUN \u2018n FUN belongs to this city and to the residents of Polk County,\u201d said Greg Gibson, Chief Marketing Officer. \u201cThe return of First Friday to Downtown Lakeland is the perfect opportunity for folks to come out and experience the fantastic businesses and restaurants in this great city. We started sponsoring the event with the name Flight Night back in 2019, and we\u2019re excited to partner once again with Downtown Lakeland and other Downtown Champions to help welcome back First Friday this year by recognizing the dedicated people who have served so heroically during the pandemic.\u201d<\/td><\/tr>
According to Gibson, tickets will be available for purchase at Flight Night for any day of the 6-day event, but the discount deals are on the weekend, when Lakeland kids are out of school and families can attend together. \u201cWe\u2019re offering Florida residents a BOGO for the weekend shows,\u201d he said. \u201cBuy an adult ticket for Saturday, and you\u2019ll get Sunday\u2019s admission for free! In addition, any front-line health care workers who present a valid ID from any local hospital or emergency care facility or first responder presenting a certified badge will receive a free single-day pass to SUN \u2018n FUN 2021.\u201d Gibson offered that other pricing and discount packages can be found on the show\u2019s website at www.flysnf.org<\/a>.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Gibson also revealed that in addition to the discounts, any purchase at Flight Night\u2019s booth gets a chance at spinning a prize wheel, with prizes including free tickets, VIP upgrades, apparel, and other fun perks. The 47th annual SUN \u2018n FUN Aerospace Expo takes place at Lakeland International Airport on April 13-18, 2021. There are over 450 exhibitors with high-tech experiences showcasing the latest innovations in aerospace technology. There is a 7-acre ramp and \u00bd mile of real runway with dozens of military fighters and heavy aircraft, plus four huge areas with hundreds of Warbirds, Golden Age, Homebuilt, and Light Sport aircraft. Visitors can meet fighter pilots and veterans from every era of aviation in multiple theaters and showcases. There are airshows daily, plus night shows on Wednesday and Saturday night. The airshows have over 50 acts scheduled for the week, and the featured performances this year will come from the U.S. Navy\u2019s Flight Demonstration Team, The Blue Angels, and a Lakeland first \u2013 a Drone Light Show called \u201cStar Dance Spectacular\u201d, on Wednesday and Saturday nights.
