Southeastern University Head Wrestling Coach\u00a0Brandon Jorge<\/a>\u00a0has hired Jameel Bryant as an assistant coach for the Fire.

Bryant comes to SEU having spent the last two seasons as the head assistant coach at Life University. With Bryant’s help, the Running Eagles finished third at nationals. During his coaching career, he has coached three national champions and 17 All-Americans.

Additionally, he has worked as an academic coordinator, educating coaches on eligibility, coordinating academic meetings for athletes, and developing and scheduling tutoring.

“Jameel brings great experience and energy to our program,” said Jorge. “Jameel was a proven wrestler and has proven himself as a coach. I know he will help our program have continued success on and off the mat.”

Bryant also served as an assistant coach at the Sunday School of Wrestling in Kentucky, planning practice schedules for 12-18-year-olds and running individual workouts.

“It feels good to be on a team that believes in living the right lifestyle and competing for something bigger than themselves,” said Bryant. “I’m looking forward to doing my part to help bring the team to the next level.”

As a wrestler at Lindsey Wilson College, Bryant was a two-time NAIA National Champion at 184 pounds, and was a three-time All-American between the NAIA and NJCAA, wrestling at North Iowa Area Community College.
