Polk County’s ongoing widening of West Pipkin will close Lunn Road for 45 days starting Tuesday morning April 30. Closure is needed for the installation of a new water main and reinforced concrete drainage pipes under Lunn Road just south of the intersection at West Pipkin Road.
Subsequent rebuilding of the Lunn Road approach and connection to the new four-lane West Pipkin Road mainline is also included in the closure schedule. During the closure, traffic will be detoured along West Pipkin Road or Parker Road to Old Highway 37 to bypass the work zone. Delays and backups are expected. Commuters are advised to drive carefully and to add extra drive time to trips in the area, especially during peak-hour traffic.
