Senior forward Uchenna Kanu was voted The Sun Conference Women’s Offensive Player of the Week by the league office this afternoon after a great week. This marks the 16th Kanu has won the award in her career.
Kanu opened up Sun Conference play with a pair of solid performances. Versus Warner, Kanu netted the 23rd hat trick of her collegiate career. Against Ave Maria, the Abia, Nigeria native netted two goals and recorded an assist in just 39 minutes of play. Kanu leads the NAIA in total points (45) and is second in goals (19).
The Fire are back in action Saturday, October 5th at 3:00 p.m. when they take on Johnson & Wales University.
