Following a pair of solid performances, the Southeastern University men’s golf team made a major jump into the NAIA Coaches’ Top 25.
The Fire went from unranked all the way to ninth in the poll, released Friday afternoon by the national office.
This matches the highest ranking in program history, which was achieved April 7th and May 4th of 2017.
Southeastern placed fourth at Kinderlou Forest, then had a seventh place finish at Innisbrook, joined by a host of Top 10 teams.
Freshman Matthew Soucinek leads the team in scoring through five rounds at 73.2, with sophomore Andres Padilla second on the team at 74.6.
The Fire next take the course this weekend in Tennessee for the Bojangles Fall Classic at The Links at Kahite.
