The Syndicate Waterski 2019 NCWSA Division I Nationals took place from October 10-12, and the Florida Southern College teams finished fourth best in the country, scoring 10,790 total team points over the three-day event. The event was held at the Bell Acqua Water Ski Lakes.
The University of Louisiana claimed the national title with 12,680 points, followed by Alabama in second with 12,275 points. Louisiana-Monroe placed third with 11,855 points, followed by Florida Southern.
Following the Mocs were Rollins in fifth place, Arizona State sixth, Clemson seventh, Texas A&M eighth, Western Washington in ninth, and Wisconsin La Crosse in tenth.
San Diego State and Ohio State rounded out the 12-team field.
Men
Senior Tanguy Dailland performed extremely well for the Mocs, beginning with a third place finish in the slalom event, with 111.00 buoys. He later took second place in the trick round with 6460 points, and then tied for sixth place in the jump at 180 feet.
In the slalom event, sophomore Jamie Calhoun claimed second place in the nation with 111.50 buoys.
Women
In the slalom, senior Allie Nicholson tied for third with 99.0 buoys. She was one of four Mocs in the top 20 in the event.
Freshman Josefa Gonzalez claimed seventh pace in the trick event with 2950 points. Junior Valentina Gonzalez placed fifth in the jump, touching down after 140 feet in a crowded field, just seven feet from second place.
