Mason Jones was named Sunshine State Conference Runner of the Week for the second time this year and the sixth time in his career.
Jones led the Mocs with a program record in the 8K with a time of 24:14.5 to lead the Mocs. As a team, Florida Southern finished 11th of 53 teams at the Royals XC Challenge in Charlotte, N.C. on Friday. The Titusville, Fla. native placed seventh overall and was the first runner from the south region, and the fifth from Division-II to cross the finish line. Setting the record in the 8K marked his first school record in cross country and his second overall.*
*- Jones set the program record for track in the 10,000 meter run as a freshman in 2018.
