The Global Pentecostalism Center at Southeastern University will host its October lecture series on Monday, October 28, at 7 p.m. The speaker for the fall lecture is Dr. Anders Gerdmar, founder and president of the Scandinavian School of Theology in Uppsala, Sweden. The topic of the lecture is “The Nazi Bible: The Peak of Politicized Interpretation and Biblical Hermeneutics.”
In addition to serving as the president of the Scandinavian School of Theology, Gerdmar is also an associate professor of New Testament studies at Uppsala University. As a theological teacher in missions, Gerdmar has been involved in the training of more than 1,700 pastors and leaders from Norway, Siberia, the Middle East and Singapore. A distinguished scholar and educator, Gerdmar specializes in the Jewish background of Christianity, apostolic Christianity, and theology and anti-Semitism.
Gerdmar is the author of five books. His widely-read book, “Bible Keys,” was written for new Christians and has been translated into more than 20 different languages. He is a member of several international scholarly organizations, including Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas and Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Theologie, Germany. From 2002 to 2014, Gerdmar served as the dean and later the president of Livets Ord Theological Seminary. He also was a board member at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla.
