The Florida Southern women’s swimming team lost at home this afternoon to visiting Tampa, 169.5-82.5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tampa used a deep roster to take a commanding lead early.
- Junior Lanier Whitton was the sole winner on the day for the Mocs, capturing the 100-back in 1:00.71.
- Freshman Emily Drabick took second place twice, in the 100-breast (2:33.73) and the 400-IM (4:49.30)
- Other second place finishers included senior Malin Wallen (200-free/2:57.49), Maria Di Bella (100-back/1:00.88), freshman Danielle Williams (50-free/24.66), senior Kyra Fraser (200-back/2:10.69), Grace Sill (500-free/5:26.74), and Kimmy Chang (100-fly/59.05).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Mocs captured first and second place in the 100-back, with Whitton and Di Bella doing the trick.
- Southern placed 2-3 in several events as well, including the 200-breast (Drabick & Annalise Eisold), 500-free (Sill & Erin McCann), 100-fly (Chang & Sandra Miclaus), and 400-IM (Drabick & Eisold).
