The Fire men’s soccer team in ranked in the Top 10 of the NAIA Coaches’ Poll for the third time this season. However, this ranking is a little more special.
Southeastern finished the regular season with its best record in program history and won The Sun Conference regular season title for the second time, and now hold their highest NAIA Top 25 ranking in program history.
The Fire moved up to eighth in today’s edition of the coaches’ poll, voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each of the qualifying groups.
Southeastern is 14-1-2 and will have a first round bye in The Sun Conference Tournament, which starts on Saturday. The Fire will host either Thomas or Johnson & Wales on Tuesday the 12th.
Since the last ranking, the Fire picked up a 1-0 victory at home against Thomas, then a 9-3 win at Florida Memorial.
Southeastern has recorded eight total shutouts, which is 19th in the NAIA, and 53 total goals, which is 25th nationally.
