Southeastern University junior Taylah Simmons was named The Sun Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week following a record performance on Saturday.
Simmons set a program single-game record with 35 points in her team’s 105-50 win over St. Thomas. The Wagner transfer was 13-of-21 from the field and 9-of-11 at the free throw line.
Additionally, Simmons had 10 rebounds, two assists, and three steals in 30 minutes of work.
She is currently averaging 21 points and five rebounds per game, which both rank in the top 10 nationally.
The Fire return to action on Thursday at Coastal Georgia at 5:30 p.m.
