After well over a week of hard work by Polk County Fire Rescue crews, the Lasso Lane fire has been significantly reduced in size. Fire crews have continued to monitor and work the fire 24 hours a day, dumping well over 12 million gallons of water on it.
PCFR will continue to remain on scene, monitoring and working the mulch / loose timber fire until deemed safe to stop operations.
PCFR would also like to remind the public that there is still smoke in the area and to please use caution when driving if visibility is questionable.
