The Lakeland Fire Department’s (LFD) 2019 toy drive was a success thanks to generous donations from community members, firefighters, and organizations in the Lakeland community.
Several hundreds of toys have been collected, including 15 new bikes; which will be donated to the Children’s Home Society and the Lakeland Dream Center. Toys will be dropped off by department staff and firefighters on Thursday, December 19, 2019, starting at 10 AM at the Children’s Home Society, located at 1010 E Rose St, Lakeland, FL 33801. Directly afterward at approximately 10:45 AM to 11:00 AM, toys will then be taken to the Lakeland Dream Center, located at 635 W 5th St, Lakeland, FL 33805.
This is the seventh year in that the Lakeland Fire Department sponsors a toy drive and the event has been very successful thanks to the donations from the community and firefighters, who generously provide toys. Donations were received from:

Fire Chief Doug Riley shares “Out of the many events our department sponsors and participates, this is one we all look forward to every year. The holidays are a time to reflect on our blessings and to give back to those in need. This annual toy drive helps hundreds of children in Lakeland by allowing them to enjoy the holidays with a toy someone provided especially for them.”
