You can be confident of this – Lakeland Community Theatre is important to many people in our city and will always have a place to thrive. My family is deeply impacted by it, as well.
We have strategic planning annually as a Commission, and appropriately, it requires thinking out of the box for many aspects of the future and for providing optimized use of space for our entire city.
If we ever came to a conclusion that the theatre should be moved, a provision for it would be made in advance of that move and would be all or better than the current facilities. It is WHEN we consider possibility thinking that we often come out with better results for all parties.
You can relax. LCT will remain a high priority to this Commission in all its discussions. The reason is that our Commission, and our City, values arts and will sustain them or help them grow!
