City Manager Tony Delgado now has the power to do the following:
- To order the evacuation of certain areas of the city
- To declare curfews during specified hours of the day
- To declare certain areas of the city subject to quarantine or accessible only under specified conditions
- To prohibit the sale of merchandise, goods or services at more than the normal average retail price
- To implement emergency procurement procedures
Also, city commissioners will be meeting weekly during the emergency to give guidance to the City Manager.

This virus, if it gets real bad here in Polk, is going to overwhelm our first responders. Hope they`ve got enough trained personell, the protective gear, and the medical equipment necessary. My prayers are with all of you.
