The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence awarded Polk County’s Fleet Management Division with its highest honor – the ASE Blue Seal of Excellence.
“We are fortunate in Polk County because we have an incentive for ASE certifications,” said Fleet Management Director Robert Biller. “We have a talented and qualified staff and I am pleased we were able to receive this distinction.”
To be eligible for this recognition, a company or organization must have 75 percent of its automotive professionals ASE Certified. In addition, there must be a certified technician in each area of services offered. To remain in the program, a repair facility must renew each year and confirm its professional certification status.
Polk’s Fleet Management Division has 11 master automotive technicians, 10 masters medium/heavy truck technicians, and a total of 226 ASE certifications and has an 84 percent certification rate. The technicians in the division serve more than 2,400 vehicles in the county’s inventory.
These technicians are constantly updating their education and staying on top of new trends and technology in their respective fields.
