While other students spent their last weekend of spring break relaxing or soaking up some rays at the beach, Polk County Fire Rescue’s cadets worked hard to gain valuable knowledge of the fire service.
The cadets worked with crews from Station 12 and Special Operations Station 9, along with other members of fire rescue to learn more about the operations of ladders. The training taught them all about roof ladders, attic ladders, and extension ladders to have an effective VEIS (Vent, Enter, Isolate, Search) operation.
The cadets also had the opportunity to learn how to work with chainsaws and other various equipment that our fire crews use on a daily basis.
