Hello, this is Sheriff Grady Judd. I want to let you know about a recent scam affecting our area. Scammers are calling pretending to be loved ones who have been arrested.
The scammer then calls back pretending to be a lawyer asking for a large amount of cash for bail. This is a scam! The scammer will then tell you not to tell anyone what you are doing.
Do not listen to them. If this happens call a family member or the Sheriff’s Office.
Do not give anyone you do not know your money. No one will ever call you wanting you to pay for anything with cash or gift cards, ever! If you get a call like this hang up the phone and block the number.
