A great big Patriot thank you goes out to Carlton Palmore Elementary School for their recent cleanup along a section of Cleveland Heights Blvd.
This road is heavily traveled and unfortunately, litter from passing motorists can accumulate along the sides of the road. During rain events, this litter gets washed into the storm drains and easily travels through the storm drain system ending up in our lakes and waterways.
We appreciate Carlton Palmore Elementary volunteers for all their hard work and generous donation of their time to help keep Cleveland Heights Blvd clean!
Interestingly, storm drains along Cleveland Heights Blvd drain directly to Lake John and Lake Hollingsworth. Removal of this litter and preventing it from reaching the lakes help to protect wildlife and water quality.
Please remember that it’s very important to throw trash in garbage cans and not out car windows or on the ground.
