This adorable little guy is one of Snowball’s kittens who caught an upper respiratory infection from his mom while nursing. Unfortunately, the virus zeroed in on Popeye’s right eye causing a horrible infection and eventual rupture. Popeye was rushed into surgery last Friday morning where Dr. Weedon and the surgical team at TLC PetSnip, Inc. performed an emergency enucleation to remove the ruptured eye.
Popeye now has the dubious distinction of being the smallest patient to be operated on at TLC PetSnip weighing in at a whopping 9.6 ounces at the time of surgery. We are so grateful to have TLC PetSnip as one of our rescue partners. They did an awesome job and no doubt saved Popeye’s life by removing the infected eye so quickly.
