Elsa ran into unfavorable atmospheric conditions as she was centered just off the coast of Florida early Wednesday morning. Dry air and upper-level winds weakened her just enough to limit her impacts along the central west coast of Florida. Power outages, minor flash floods, and minimal storm surges were reported.
Tropical storm Elsa is currently in the Carolinas. She’s anticipated to hug the east coast and move into the New England area by the end of the workweek. Flash floods are a concern in these areas.
As for Central Florida, expect scattered showers and storms this afternoon tracking west to east. Temperatures in the high 80s. Light west-southwest breeze bumping up the dewpoint temperature, it will be muggy today.
