Yesterday we were honored when the riders of the 2021 Brotherhood Ride stopped in Lakeland to honor our Fallen Heroes: Officer Ken Foley and Officer Paul Dunn. 40 Riders and their team of amazing support volunteers rode into the station, escorted by our motor officers from LakelandPD, officers from Polk County Sheriff’s Office, and Florida Highway Patrol. The team presented Chief Garcia with support donations for the Foley and Dunn families, raised by the members through year-round fundraising efforts.
The team is cycling through the state of Florida to honor the 26 fallen heroes lost last year, before heading north to commemorate the heroes lost in 9/11 on the 20th anniversary in New York. The ride began on August 21st in Naples, FL, and is set to conclude in New York. The Brotherhood Ride consists of Firefighters, Police Officers, and EMS personnel who ride bicycles to honor emergency first responders who have died in the line of duty.
