The sign out front at Merchants Walk shopping plaza may still bear the Stein Mart name but the names of two new stores should soon take their place.
A construction crew was climbing scaffolding outside the former Stein Mart location on Monday as part of the renovations and build-out of a Burlington and Five Below.
According to the KIMCO Realty Corp. website, a 25,191-square-foot Burlington will occupy the shopping plaza and a 9,575-square-foot Five Below will move in next door. KIMCO’s website shows only three other stores in Merchants Walk that have a larger footprint than Burlington, including retail anchor tenants: Hobby Lobby, Marshalls, and Ross Dress For Less.
Merchants Walk has a total of 13,375 square feet of available space in four separate locations throughout the plaza, according to the website.
In a recent interview with the Herald Tribune, the Tampa-based Todd Abrams, regional vice president of Florida for Burlington Stores, said the New Jersey discount clothing and accessories chain plans to open nine new stores in Florida this fall.
