Congratulations to our newest Rescue Captain, Damian Motsinger! Damian Motsinger joined Lakeland Fire Department as a Firefighter in June 2008. He served as a Firefighter/Paramedic for nine years until he was promoted to his most recent role as Lieutenant, which he served in the capacity of for the past four years.
Damian is a Lakeland native, graduated from Kathleen High School and Polk State College. He serves as a SWAT team medic, peer support team member, and adjunct instructor for Polk State College. In addition, Damian holds many professional certifications, including Firefighter, Paramedic, Pump operator, Fire Hydraulics, Aerial Operator, Fire Officer 1, Instructor 1, Live Fire Instructor, ARFF, ACLS Instructor, PALS Instructor, PHTLS Instructor, ACS Instructor, CPR Instructor, Level A EMS Instructor, TCCC.In his spare time, Damian enjoys weightlifting, martial arts, chasing his dogs and baby around the house and yard. He was joined at his ceremony today by his wife Chelsea and son Noah, Mother, Mother-in-law, and Grandparents. Damian looks forward to becoming an asset to the organization in his new role as Rescue Captain.
