The expansion of The Joinery food hall is in the works.
Lakeland city commissioners will be asked on Monday to sell a vacant lot east of The Joinery to allow them to expand The Joinery and add more parking.
The owners of the Joinery would like to add a smaller building to fill some frequent customer requests: a full-service restaurant, a space for private events, and a coffee shop that would open earlier than the large food hall.
The expansion is still being worked out and subject to negotiation with city staff.
