The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to the Texas Legends 120-103 on the second night of a back-to-back at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
The Lakeland Magic celebrated the organization’s first championship ring ceremony prior to tip off. Once the game started, Texas got off to a hot start and took a double digit lead early in the first. Justin Jackson went 4-5 from three in the first quarter to lead all scorers with 12 points going into the second. The Legends’ efficient shooting continued in the second, taking a commanding lead into the half.
BJ Johnson had another big game, scoring over 25 points for the second night in a row. Johnson and Admiral Schofield led a third-quarter Lakeland rally and cut the deficit to single digits, but it proved to be Justin Jackson’s night, as he finished with a game-high 41 points and helped the Legends maintain the lead to the end.
Johnson finished with 26 points, nine rebounds and two assists. Scofield posted 21 points, eight rebounds and two assists. TJ Haws added 15 points, six rebounds and two steals.
Jackson hit 11 three-point shots to finished with 41 points and eight rebounds. JaQuori McLaughlin posted 21 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Yudai Baba added 19 points, six rebounds and five steals.
