Spice Thai Sushi – Routine inspection: Immediate closure

Routine inspection Nov. 3.

Immediate closure, emergency order recommended. Inspector says conditions endanger public health and safety.

11 total violations, with 2 high-priority violations:

— High Priority – Presence of insects, rodents, or other pests. Observed 1 dead lizard on top of reach in cooler at server station.

— High Priority – Rodent activity present as evidenced by rodent droppings found. Observed 3 rodent droppings on shelf where soda condenser is in dry storage.

— Intermediate – Failure to maintain freezing records on nonexempt fish for 90 days. Only observed records for delivery made on  11-1-2021.

— Basic – Carbon dioxide tanks not adequately secured. In dry storage

— Basic – Ceiling/ceiling tile shows damage or is in disrepair by server station door frame heading to dry storage

— Basic – Dead roaches on premises. Observed 1 dead roach on top of reach in cooler in server station

— Basic – Dead rodent present. Observed 1 dead rodent on glue trap in dry storage on ground by freezer. Person in charge discarded rodent and put in trash can.

— Basic – Floor not cleaned when the least amount of food is exposed. Observed food debris on floor around kitchen equipment

— Basic – In-use spoons stored in standing water less than 135 degrees Fahrenheit. Spoons were in water at 76°. Person in charge dumped out water

— Basic – Nonfood-contact surface soiled with grease, food debris, dirt, slime or dust. Observed grease buildup on hood filters and hood system

— Basic – Wall soiled with accumulated grease, food debris, and/or dust. Observed buildup of grease on walls at cook line

Nov. 3: Met standards. Problems from earlier emergency order have been corrected. Three total violations, with no high-priority violations.
