Ladies and gentlemen, here’s another great bunch of citizens who were issued Sheriff’s Commendations by Sheriff Judd this week – meet Ronnie, Greg, and David. In August 2021, they were in the right place at the right time as Deputy Melissa Myers was trying to help someone in crisis.
In fact, they were doing some work in the area and observed the troubling behavior before Deputy Myers arrived, so they stayed tuned in just to make sure she was safe.
They had some great intuition because that person in crisis did become combative, and began punching Deputy Myers in the face.
These three men (along with Charles, not pictured here) immediately sprang into action and grabbed the man who was assaulting the deputy. Together, they were able to safely take him into custody and get him the help he needed.
“We are blessed to live in a county where our citizens don’t hesitate when they see a law enforcement officer being assaulted. When this group of men saw Deputy Myers in crisis, they immediately jumped in to help her. Thanks to their quick actions, nobody else was injured, and the young man in distress was safely taken into custody.
