This week at Lakeland Electric, we have started demolition at the Mcintosh Power Plant. Lakeland Electric will be adding six natural gas-powered internal combustion engines that power up quickly to help us manage demand and fluctuations from solar power in the place where these tanks are now.
Lakeland Electric will also be adding 50-75 megawatts of solar plus 10% battery storage. That’s about 3-5 times more solar power!
