Meet Ziti -

In an effort to help our long-term residents find homes, we will be featuring at least two each week who are available for adoption. Sadly, many of our young adults get passed up by potential adopters in their quest for a much younger cat or kitten. Several of our adults have been with us for over two years so it’s time they find their forever homes.

The first featured kitty being is a two year-old, grey and white male by the name of Ziti. He was born in our shelter in the Spring of 2019 and all of his siblings found homes except for him. Ziti is one of the most affectionate cats we’ve ever had and never gets tired of attention, head scratches, or having his belly rubbed. He is exceptionally playful and dearly loves his tunnel and to swat at string toys. While his svelte figure clearly shows he enjoys a good meal , he would rather just sit in your lap for some loving than to eat his meal. Everyone who meets this handsome boy just loves him. Unfortunately, the reason Ziti is passed up by potential adopters is that he has FIV. FIV is a condition which affects a feline’s immune system. It cannot be transmitted to humans, dogs, or any other species. FIV was once thought to be an immediate death sentence for cats but that’s no longer the case. Cats with FIV are now living longer lives due to regular vet care, better medications, and healthy, nutritious diets. As with any illness, life expectancy is impossible to predict but FIV positive kitties are known to live into their teen years. Ziti is completely asymptomatic and does not require any medications. What he does require is a home in which he can be the King of your Heart . He has so much to offer and deserves a forever home.
