The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to the Delaware Blue Coats, NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, 144-139 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
The Lakeland Magic had seven players score in double figures, including three players with over 20 points, to score a season-high 139 points. After taking a one-point lead going into the half, the Blue Coats exploded for a huge third quarter scoring outburst to take control of the game in the second half. Lakeland trailed by as many as 17 points before a three-point barrage from TJ Haws, Aleem Ford and Admiral Schofield brought the Magic all the way back to reclaim the lead in the final minutes. Down one point with 30 seconds to go, Braxton Key avoided a controversial no call on a possible charge and finished at the rim to take the lead. Key came up with a steal on the following possession to help Delaware squeak away with the win.
Schofield finished with 23 points, five made threes and 9 rebounds. BJ Johnson scored 22 points and eight rebounds off the bench. Hassani Gravett added 21 points, eight assists and four rebounds.
Myles Powell led all scorers with 39 points and five assists. Key posted 21 points and five rebounds off the bench. Jaden Springer, on assignment from the 76ers, contributed 19 points and five rebounds.
