Since 2016, hundreds of thousands of Tons of this filth have been dumped in our area only to benefit a few people’s pockets.
A never-ending battle of court cases, County Hearings, loss of jobs, and just pure BS because our very own Polk County BOCC was just too stupid to deny them in the 1st place.
They had been down this road with a few other companies such as this before this one, yet they went ahead with allowing this disastrous environmental event to be allowed here in East Lakeland.
I hope FDEP holds its ground on the denial. I hope you read it. Read the reasons for the denial. Pure out & out FU to the rules they were supposed to follow.
God only knows what pathogens etc. our food products were contaminated with by the so-called “recycled biosolids” used by Plant City Strawberry farmers.
What contaminations are in the mulch that is in your yards, playgrounds, and so on? If they have to close up shop, who will be responsible for the clean-up?
Will Sam Averett take it over and let every Tom, Dick & Harry Septic Tank Company dump there, keeping their prices in sync?
The Stanton’s started this venture with ill-gotten gains from years before from a former business in Hillsborough County.
I hope they are run out of the State!
And for Averett Septic Tank, boycott them.
As for the Polk County BOCC members who voted to allow this in the 1st place who are still in office and up for re-election, vote them out.
You never know when your neighborhood, water source, clean air will be next! Hold them all accountable!
