Spring is in the air. Eggs will be hidden for an Easter egg hunt. Families will be dressed in their Sunday best for Easter Sunday, officially known as Resurrection Day.
There is one day that is extremely important and overlooked, and that is PASSOVER.
In AD 325 at the Council of Nicaea, Easter was cemented as the day to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, and its date was also determined. This was when Easter perhaps most officially replaced Passover.
Jesus Celebrates Passover with His Disciples as stated in Matthew 26:17: “Now on the first day of the Feast of the Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying to Him, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?”

Jesus became the sacrificial lamb and Passover is a time to gather and Celebrate our Freedom in Christ.
Jesus said: “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the Kingdom of God.” – Luke 22:15-16
Jesus was a Jew and Jews were required, under the Law of Moses, to celebrate the Passover every year, to remember the Exodus from Egypt. The Last Supper, when Jesus ate with His disciples, was a Passover meal. Many elements in the ritual of the Passover meal pointed to the sacrifice that would be made by the expected Messiah who would rescue Israel not from slavery in Egypt but from slavery to sin. Jesus was the Messiah of Israel, and Jesus is the Saviour of ALL (Jews & Gentiles) who believe in Him.

This Friday, sit together and partake in the Passover Dinner at sundown and remember what Jesus has done for us.

Are there any churches in Lakeland observing Passover with a Seder dinner? Very sad because there are hundreds of churches. Well, I guess the CEO, I mean Pastor, doesn’t do religious venues since they are owned by the government with their 501c3 Corporation. Extremely sad when the church has lost their purpose. Passover is the most important day of Resurrection Weekend. Good Friday is Passover. Remember what Jesus has done for you and me. He has risen and is coming back again. Where will you spend eternity?
