“Polk County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the implementation of their new feline programs. In an effort to cut down on spending, these new cutting-edge programs will use police cats to work alongside deputies.”
“Deputy Blizzard” is the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services shelter cat.
Deputy Blizzard serves as a foster dad for troubled kittens.
The little guy also provides support therapy for the shelter’s staff.
Also, Sheriff Grady Judd has two new patrol cats at the Sherriff’s substations – Officer Buttercup and Officer Scrappy.
The felines and handlers have gone through hundreds of hours of special training from stiffing butts to litter box etiquette.
