No one was injured, and firefighters were able to put out the flames early this morning.
Lakeland steakhouse has suffered “extensive damage” due to a fire overnight.
According to the Lakeland Fire Department, officials received calls about the Texas Cattle Company around 1 a.m. on Tuesday the fire was under control by 3:30 a.m.
The popular restaurant located next door to the main city fire station has been around for nearly 40 years.
This incident is an active investigation by Lakeland Fire Department’s Prevention Division. The cause of which has not yet been determined, LFD said.
All eight LFD units responded to the scene as well as Lakeland Police and Polk County Fire Rescue.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
“We are sad to announce that Texas Cattle Company in Lakeland is temporarily closed due to a fire in the building that has since been contained,” a Facebook post on Tuesday read. “Thank you for your support during this time. We look forward to reopening and serving you again soon!”
