The featured drink for my most recent wedding was the bride’s favorite, Malibu and pineapple. Some guests requested I “surprise” them with something sweet. I love this request! Malibu Bay Breeze it is! What I enjoy so much about serving a Malibu Bay Breeze is the option to layer the ingredients giving the drink a beautiful ombre effect that guests always enjoy. What’s even better is the Malibu Bay Breeze is made with only 3 ingredients: Malibu (coconut rum), pineapple juice, and cranberry juice. Malibu itself is actually a liqueur with rum in it. Giving it a higher sugar but lower alcohol content over white rum. This makes the Malibu Bay Breeze sweet, fruity, and very refreshing. If you’re wondering what to mix with malibu, this is the easiest and most delicious option. This drink can also be made with regular white rum or vodka to cut the sugar down, giving you a regular Bay Breeze.

Ingredients
- 2 ounces 100% pineapple juice
- 1 ½ ounces coconut rum
- 2 ounces 100% unsweetened cranberry juice*
- 1 lime wedge
Layered cocktails look hard but are super easy! It’s all based on density. The denser liquids float to the bottom, and the less dense liquids float to the top.
- Make sure to use unsweetened cranberry juice here. The sugar affects the density! And the order you float the liquids matters.
- Add the pineapple and coconut rum to a glass and stir. These will stay on the bottom.
- Top with the unsweetened cranberry juice, which will float on top! If you’d like, stir gently to get a bit of a swirl effect.
