According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Depression Four has formed in the Atlantic Ocean behind Tropical Storm Bret.
As of the NHC’s 11 a.m. advisory, Tropical Depression 4 is moving west at 15 mph with maximum sustained wind speeds of 35 mph
As of the 2 p.m. advisory, Tropical Storm Bret is still moving west at 15 mph, with maximum sustained wind speeds of 65 mph. It is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rains to portions of the Leeward Islands on Thursday.
Tropical Storm Bret is expected to dissipate over the central Caribbean Sea by the weekend, while Tropical Depression 4 is expected to become Tropical Storm Cindy but not reach hurricane status.
A hurricane watch is in effect for St. Lucia. Meanwhile, tropical storm warnings are in effect for the following islands:
- Dominica
- St. Lucia
- Martinique
- Barbados
- St. Vincent and the Grenadines
