Starting 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, July 15, specialty contractors removing overhead conveyors at the McIntosh Power Plant in Lakeland with overhead cranes will close East Lake Parker Drive for up to nine hours. Three City of Lakeland Police officers will maintain traffic. Two officers will be posted north of Centurion Drive to block and redirect traffic, and one roving officer will provide support until conveyor removal is complete and East Lake Parker Drive is reopened. During closure, traffic will be detoured along Combee Road (State Road 659) to bypass work zone.
