Davenport’s Ale House, 1260 Posner Blvd., Davenport: On Aug. 3, the restaurant received 15 violations, including three labeled “high priority.” Among those, an inspector noted eight rodent droppings in the kitchen and a storage area. The other two high-priority violations were for a fly found in the game room bathroom and two cans of dented nacho cheese sauce. Among the basic violations, the inspector noted four dead roaches. The restaurant was given an administrative complaint and a follow-up was required. It met standards in an inspection the next day with only three violations, none related to insects or rodents.
KFC, N. Broadway Ave. Bartow: On July 31, the restaurant received four violations. The only high-priority violation was for seven live flies, five on a damaged wall near a hand sink and breading station and two on the wall by a mop sink. A warning was issued and a follow-up required. The restaurant met standards during a follow-up inspection on Aug. 4, with only one clerical violation.
Perkins Restaurant And Bakery 1280, 150 E. Van Fleet Drive, Bartow: On July 31, the restaurant received nine violations, two of which were high-priority. An inspector noted four live flies in dry storage and a live roach on the back door. A dead roach was also found on the floor near the CO2 tank. In a follow-up inspection on Aug. 4, the inspector noted to live roaches on a wall in dry storage and a live fly on napkins, also in dry storage. The restaurant received an administrative complaint, and a follow-up inspection is required. As of Aug. 11, a follow-up inspection wasn’t available in state reports.
Philly Steak N Wing, 33837 U.S. 27, Davenport: On Aug. 2, the restaurant received seven violations, one of which was high priority. That high-priority violation wasn’t for insects, but for shrimp that was stored above 41 degrees. But the inspector also noted nine dead roaches, seven on baseboards in the kitchen and two on gaskets in a reach-in cooler. That was listed as a basic violation.
