On September 22, 2023, at 12:29 p.m., officers were proactively patrolling the area of a motel on Lakeland Hills Boulevard.
While walking the hallways of the business they encountered Charles Littles who was carrying a baggie of marijuana openly in his hand.
Upon being searched, officers found Littles was armed with a loaded handgun he concealed in a fanny pack which was strapped to his chest.
A bag of illegal narcotics was found in his pocket which contained Cocaine and a trafficking amount of Fentanyl. Littles, a convicted felon, was charged with four felonies and two misdemeanors (Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon, Cannabis Possession, Cocaine Possession, Trafficking in Fentanyl and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia).
The Lakeland Police Department would like to commend these officers for their tireless efforts to keep our community safe from deadly drugs, and keeping weapons out of the hands of convicted felons.
