At around 6:30 PM on April 5th, a PCSO deputy noticed a bicycle riding dangerously in traffic on a very busy New Tampa Highway in west Lakeland, so the deputy attempted a traffic stop.
The bicyclist was 34-year-old Joshua Seckman, and Josh didn’t feel like stopping. He turned onto McCue Road and pedaled like he never pedaled before. But then Josh crashed. But that didn’t stop him.
Josh began running. Running like he never ran before. But it wasn’t good enough; the deputy caught up to Josh.
When the deputy asked Josh who he was, Josh initially said his name was Anthony, and since we’ve already told you his name was Josh, you know that Josh lied to the Po-Po.
The deputy discovered that Josh had some methamphetamine on him. He had meth inside his jacket pocket, inside his pants pockets, and even in a necklace.
The deputy also discovered Josh had an active warrant out of Hillsborough County for Violation of Probation (Fleeing to Elude, DUI, and Criminal Mischief).
Joshua Seckman was arrested and taken to the Polk Pokey (which is nothing new for him), and he was additionally charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia, False Info to LEO, and Resisting.
