Mayor Bill Mutz delivered a wonderful Proclamation for our very own Major Chad Smith, the Mission Commander for the KC-135. The Mayor also bestowed upon Major Smith the key to the city.
Chad Smith grew up in Lakeland and learned to fly early in life. He enjoyed attending the Southern fun flying every year and always dreamed of one day being able to fly in one.
It is a tremendous honor to have Chad be able to fly his plane with his crew on our 50th anniversary.
