The City of Lakeland is pleased to announce that the Five Points Roundabout project has been successfully completed 94 days ahead of schedule and will reopen to the public on Monday, April 29, 2024. The intersection at West Main Street, West Lemon Street, and Sloan Avenue was temporarily closed while the signalized intersection was converted to a modern single-lane roundabout. The new roundabout aims to enhance traffic flow, improve safety, and serve as a gateway feature to the Downtown West area.
Project Information:
- The project was funded in collaboration with the City’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), Public Works, Lakes & Stormwater, and Utility Departments.
- Designed by Patel Greene & Associates (PGA)
- Project was constructed by Gibbs & Register Inc. and inspected by Rummel, Klepper & Kahl (RK&K).
- Project was managed by the Public Works Engineering Department
- Construction Contract Amount: $2,386,999.60
