When you go shopping in Florida’s supercenters, chances are you see third-party vendors operating in and providing services for some of the store’s departments. Unfortunately, one of these vendors – T-Roc – has lost a major Walmart contract and will be having a mass layoff as the result.

About T-Roc: This Company identifies itself as a “revenue optimization company” headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida.
Its website presents a case study about Walmart where T-Roc was reportedly able to achieve a ten times increase in sales in Walmart’s store-within-a-store wireless department, which T-Roc staffed.
Because of this growth, the company eventually serviced 1,300 Walmart locations nationwide. However, this appears to be coming to an end.

Florida Feedback: Employees give T-Roc 2.6 out of 5 stars on Indeed, with many saying that your experience working with the company depends upon the manager you have. While one person said the atmosphere was fun, another said that they weren’t paid the rate that they were promised.
Closure and Layoffs: According to a warn letter dated May 3, 2024, T-Roc and Walmart have unexpectedly ended their service agreement. As a result, 302 jobs will be terminated permanently throughout the state of Florida.
The letter concedes that fewer than 60 days’ notice has been given, but the company noted that this is because they did not anticipate the non-renewal.
T-Roc will reportedly close the Coral Gables office on May 31, 2024. Although employees have no bumping rights, the warn letter notes that the company is trying to find positions for the affected employees.
